R.I.P Richard Potter

I was floored to hear my old friend Richard Potter has passed away. In fact it surprised me how floored I was, considering I hadn’t really talked to him all that much these last few years (though I’d seen him about and spoken occasionally). And I think that speaks to what a friendly, gentle and beautiful soul he was.

My FB timeline tonight has been full of outpourings of emotion and nostalgia from the old Narborough Road crowd for the guy. He was cherished. He was thought fondly of. When I think of Potter I think of someone who was kind. And, honestly, I think that’s one of the best things that can be said about any person, about any life lived you could care to mention. Richard Potter was kind.

My thoughts go out to his family.
