The place I most want to live right now is the Garcia House, Hollywood, also known as the Rainbow House.

It’s unusual shape is due to owner Russell Garcia wanting great acoustics: a tv theme composer and jazz band leader, he liked to do gigs at his house parties. The house has a divide at its centre, separating the sleeping/working area from the living/eating space, apparently something important to his Baha’i faith (Also, Garcia wanted to work in peace when his wife threw parties).

The architect was John Lautner, who also built the Chemosphere house which I posted here the other week. Lautner is fast becoming my fave modern architect. He’s pop star Dua Lipa’s too. She just bought one.
